Mistakes In The King James Bible

Skeleton Sermon: Make your own mistakes!

Mistakes In The King James Bible
by Brother Johnny “the Baptist” Campbell

Now I know you’ll have to pick yourself off of the floor, after screaming, “Oh! Johnny the Baptist has done it now! He has just gone to far blaspheming our King James Bible,”

Oh, I know that you can’t wait for the end of this service so you can get on your telephone or computer to broadcast afar saying, “Have you heard that Johnny The Baptist is departing from the faith?”

Now, before you call Pensacola Christian College, and say that you heard that Johnny the Baptist says that there are mistakes in the King James Bible, you need to hold your horses until you hear me out!  I state emphatically that there are mistakes in the King James Bible! The mistakes are right before your bad attitude Baptist eyes.

Mistake #1:   Eve Made The Mistake Of Listening To The Devil

Genesis 3:2-6 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: (3) But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. (4) And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (5) For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (6) And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Mistake #2:  Abraham Made The Mistake Of Taking Lot With Him

Genesis 12:1-5 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: (2) And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: (3) And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. (4) So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. (5) And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.

GOD said, “Don’t carry your family.”   His daddy died, and  Lot ended up in Sodom.  I would say that that’s a mistake!  Wouldn’t you?

Mistake #3:  Moses Made The Mistake Of Smiting The Rock

Numbers 20:7-13 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, (8) Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink. (9) And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him. (10) And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? (11) And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. (12) And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. (13) This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.

This mistake cost Moses dearly.  He was denied the opportunity to go into the Promised Land.

Mistake #4:  Samson Made The Mistake Of Going To The Beauty Shop

Judges 16:19-21 And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him. (20) And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him. (21) But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.

Boy,  I could preach here for five years about so-called men going to have their hair done, and not cut like men used to. Samson laid his head in the devils lap. Oh, what a mistake!  Come on, don’t lie!  You’re like Samson.  You like those women beauticians to rub on you, don’t you?  Oh,  I know that you’re a KJV Bible Believer.  I know you believe that a man ought not touch a woman.  But you think its O.K. if a woman touches you!  Is that right?  Uh huh, you hypocrite!

Mistake #5:  The Jews Made The Mistake Of Not Recognizing Their Messiah

John 1:11-12 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. (12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Mistake #6:  The Devil Made The Mistake Of  Thinking That He Could Hold Jesus In The Grave

Luke 24:1-7 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. (2) And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. (3) And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. (4) And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: (5) And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? (6) He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, (7) Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

Mistake #7:  The Scoffers Made The Mistake Of Saying He Isn’t Coming Soon
(And, by the way, they are still saying the same thing!)

2 Peter 3:3-4 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, (4) And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

Mistake #8:  YOU Made The Mistake Of Judging Me Before You Heard Me Out.

Now, do you understand why I say that there are mistakes in the Bible?  Notice that I didn’t say WITH the Bible.  If you don’t understand, then  you need to sue your brain for non-support!  I still proclaim the fact that GOD only wrote one book:  The KJV1611!  It’s perfect, and man is very much mistaken when he tries to tamper with it!

Brother Johnny says, learn from the mistakes of others. You wont live long enough to make them all yourself.
