“Excuse Me. I’ve Got A Call”
by Brother Johnny “The Baptist” Campbell B.A.D.F.
With the invention of the telephone (and now the cell phone), everybody’s talking. Even if they run to the store, they have a phone. People even carry phones to church! And when you have talked with them for two minutes, they say, “Excuse Me. I’ve got a call.”
Oh, I remember the best call I ever got was on September 22,1968 about 9:30 at night. Oh yes! It was long distance – all the way from glory, and I was roaming! But Heaven’s hot line got through to me!
Let me tell you about my callings
1. His Calling
Ephesians 1:18 (KJV) The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, |
A. I was called for Salvation
B. I was called for Service
C. I was called for Separation
2. High Calling
A. Higher than any Politician (Sorry George Bush, but I’ve got a higher office)
B. Higher than the Pleasures of this world
C. Higher than any Profession
3. Holy Calling
A Because of Christ finished work
B. It’s GRACE that I did not deserve
4. Heavenly Calling
Hebrews 3:1 (KJV) Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; |
5. Hope of Your Calling
Ephesians 4:4 (KJV) There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; |
A Happiness is your hope
B Heaven is your hope
Hey! We have the Blessed Hope! Paul said if we only have hope of Christ in this life we are of all men most miserable.
That’s why we have so many miserable Baptists!.
